Industry Practice: Contract of Engagement and Thumbnail Sketches

 Contract of Engagement:

Date: 13/11/24

Studio: Luminol Arts

Introduction:
This contract dictates the terms of engagement between Luminol Arts ("the studio") and individual project workers ("the engagees"). This contract applies to work being created on Luminol Art's "Tempus Fugit" visual novel ("the project").

Engagee Responsibilities:
Working at the studio, roles and responsibilities assigned to the engagee represent a crucial piece of the development pipeline that is in their hands to develop. Though the studio may provide ideas and concepts, it is up to the engagee to create appropriate material relating to their role that fits the assigned project as guided by the Director. The engagee is to seek feedback on the work they produce relating to this role, and feedback should be taken into account in further developments.
All engagees are free to comment on, and provide feedback to, the work that other engagees produce. The application of feedback is a critical step in the development pipeline.

Producing Work to a Deadline:
Work to be produced may be set to a deadline that aligns to the overall schedule and plan of the studio. Produced work should be made in accordance to these deadlines, as such timekeeping will assist the studio in keeping project expectations on track.

Term:
The Contract remains in effect until 18/05/25, or until the project is otherwise finished. By agreeing to this contract, you agree to the terms above until either term is met.

What does the Contract of Engagement mean?
The Contract of engagement represents an agreement between the group that clearly states the expectations we have for one another. This is useful as it allows us to have a single point of reference when approaching our work, and allows us all to remain on the same page in terms of understanding our expectations.

Thumbnails - Anemoia:
With my preliminary research done, I went about creating a set of thumbnail sketches relating to my character. This is so I can explore a variety of design avenues in my work, and present a multitude of different ideas - tied together with similar theming - to my group for design decisions and further refinement.
